Eight years ago, when we purchased Woolverton Inn, we were amazed by how many people in Flemington, Lambertville, New Hope and Bucks County did not recognize the name of our business and did not know anything about our business or the charming town of Stockton, NJ. When we explained that we own a historic 14-room Bed & Breakfast Inn, a typical response might be “well, we live so close that we would never have a reason to go there. “
B&Bs are wonderful getaway destinations and offer a welcoming stopover for people on the road. For anyone seeking a change of scenery, warm hospitality, and amazing ambiance for a romantic getaway or special celebration, we always recommend a B&B or small inn. Innkeepers are notorious for having lovely grounds. Request a guided tour and roam our ten acres to see classic perennials, majestic trees, brilliant roses, abundant flowers, and a useful kitchen garden. Connect with History
Every B&B has a “story” and Woolverton Inn is no different. Our past is quite interesting with many connections to the early days of Stockton (Howells Ferry), the historic Prallsville Mills, local, multi-generation families and some notable personalities, such as St John Terrell and Julia Child. Our history collection is on display in the Manor House and we look forward to sharing it with you !
Admire the Architecture
Innkeepers and owners of B&B properties are serious about authentic preservation, knowing that this feature differentiates their property from other accommodations. The stone manor house at Woolverton Inn has been professionally restored and incredibly well-maintained for over 200 years, still showcasing original fireplaces, balconies, windows, and more. The 1830’s era barn is currently under renovation to become event space, which will then welcome our local community as well as out of town visitors. Tours are available by appointment.
Sell your Wares
Visitors love to take home souvenirs or purchase unique items that are made locally, as gifts for others or to remember their stay. Favorites include artwork by local artists, glassware, handmade lotions, soaps, and of course, the spun yarn from our own six sheep. In our kitchen, we look for opportunities to use locally grown or prepared foods, such as fruits, vegetables, cheese, and coffee. Our 14 uniquely designed guest rooms feature the works of local artisans such as the Morravian Tileworks, Sunflower Glass Studio, Jerry Cable, and many other local artists. Build Partnerships
Guests who visit B&Bs rely on recommendations from innkeepers and owners for restaurants, attractions, activities, and unique experiences. Strong local partnerships are important, whether we are creating itineraries for overnight guests (places to see – all weather and seasons), providing vendor lists for wedding clients (florist, photographer, musician), or offering special packages to enhance a stay (flowers, bike rentals). Make sure we know who you are !
