Fall Foliage in Bucks CountyWoolverton Inn was proud to have Judy Freedman, a self described “post-60 female baby boomer blogger”, join us for a recent visit. Judy is a blogger whose blog is targeted to boomer women who are on similar journeys in life as she. Her philosophy is to age gracefully and to be optimistic about the future. She adds: “and keep my chin up… so my neck stays forever wrinkle-free.”

Her background includes more than 35 years in corporate communications, marketing, event production, public relations, and publishing. She retired in 2013 to pursue blogging and writing. You can find her blogs on the Huffington Post, HealthyWomen.org, My Itchy Travel Feet, Getting on Travel and Midlife Boulevard.

We were delighted when Woolverton Inn was her destination for taking time to unwind, and even more delighted when we read her wonderful post detailing her stay with us.

Judy Freedman’s Visit to Woolverton Inn

Judy’s post talks about touring the grounds, seeing where the vegetable are grown for our seasonal menus, meeting the sheep, and enjoying a relaxing stay in the Sojourn Loft. She writes:

“The amenities are overflowing. Mary has thought of everything for a relaxing stay including terrycloth robes (my favorite hotel amenity), Egyptian cotton towels and bed linens, and a mini-fridge filled with complimentary soft drinks and bottled water.

The best part is there is no television. Yes, you heard that right. There is internet if you wish to log on — to truly escape I suggest not. Instead bring a good book like L and I did, curl up in one of the soft leather chairs, turn on the fireplace and surrender into silence. It’s equally nice to just sit and meditate while looking out at the sheep pasture or indulge in an afternoon nap.”

Dinner at Brian’s in Lambertville

She also took our recommendation for dinner at Brian’s in Lambertville. The only struggle was deciding what to order because everything sounded so appetizing. She ended up choosing Shaved Reggiano Cheese and Roasted Hazelnuts to start, Lemon & Crab Risotto, and Halibut with Lemon Brown Butter for dinner, and for dessert she writes “I splurged on Bananas Foster Brioche French Toast. OMG it was the best-ever dessert!”

After dinner she returned to “sweet slumber and a leisurely breakfast” the next morning.

We invite you to enjoy her entire post, complete with some great autumn pictures of the Inn. Visit: https://www.aboomerslifeafter50.com/travel/taking-time-to-unwind-at-the-woolverton-inn/, and next time you need to unwind, consider visiting us at the Woolverton Inn.
